Four new species of the Neotropical genus Xylobium (Orchidaceae-Epidendroideae-Maxillarieae), namely X. insolitum Slach. & Kolan., X. medinae Slach. & Kolan., X. ortizianum Slach. & Kolan. and X. tubilabium Slach. & Kolan. are described and illustrated. The available, though scarce information about their distribution and ecology is provided. A key for the identification of a total of 16 Colombian species of Xylobium is presented.
