A new species of Gomesa (Orchidaceae-Oncidiinae) from
southern Brazil

A new species of the orchid genus Gomesa, G. kleinii is described and illustrated based on Brazilian material. The novelty resembles Gomesa verboonenii from which it differs by longer leaves, greenish flowers, much narrower tepals with a length/width ratio of c. 5, the lip which is much shorter than the lateral sepals, the somewhat narrower and longer lip midlobe, longer lip calli reaching the base of the midlobe, and the glabrous column.
