Neoboletus xanthopus, a sibling species of Neoboletus luridiformis, and similar boletes with yellowish pileus colours
Alexander Urban & Wolfgang Klofac

Neoboletus xanthopus, found in thermophilic deciduous forests under Quercus, is characterized based on morphological and molecular investigation, clarifying the delimitation from similar taxa. The new form Suillellus queletii f. discolor and the new combinations Suillellus queletii f. junquilleus and Neoboletus luridiformis var. pseudosulphureus are proposed. Detailed morphological descriptions, images of microscopic characters, colour pictures of the basidiomata and a key to the taxa are presented. Boletales, Boletineae, Boletaceae, Boletus, ribosomal DNA, ITS, taxonomy.

Keywords: Boletales, Boletineae, Boletaceae, Boletus, ribosomal DNA, ITS, taxonomy.
