Wawa J.M., Ndolo Ebika S.T., Atikani G.B. & Akouango P.F. (2026) Termitomyces alveolatus, a new species and a key to the known Termitomyces species from the Republic of Congo. – Sydowia 78: 301–307.

This paper describes a new species, Termitomyces alveolatus, reports a new record, Termitomyces medius, and provides a keyto the Termitomyces species currently known from the Republic of Congo. Fieldwork was conducted to collect herbarium specimens, which were subsequently analyzed through microscopic investigations. The newly described species and the new record raise the total number of known and edible species of termite mushrooms in the Republic of Congo to 14. Further investigations in the field and laboratory could bring this number up and will contribute to a better understanding of termite mushrooms’ diversity in the Republic of Congo.

Keywords: edible mushrooms, Dolisie, Kitengué, new record, termite mushrooms.
